The Bendoc Cemetery and Natural Burial Ground is located in the pristine highlands of North east Victoria, approximately 3 hours south of Canberra and just over the Victorian border. The township of Bendoc has 109 permanent residents with the nearest service centres being Delegate (over the border in NSW) and Orbost (in Victoria) to the south.

The township of Bendoc was established during the gold rush era, and has a rich history of mining and timber production.
Bendoc cemetery is home to approximately 20 gold rush era burials. Unfortunately the original records were lost to fire and with them the identities of most of the recumbents.
The Cemetery is also the final resting place of an Aboriginal man who was well known to early pioneers. The part of the cemetery where he is buried is recognised as an Aboriginal Heritage Place.
